Collector Resume

When every business makes a sale, there must be a collection of the sales. Sometimes the collection is easy and fast with a direct payment while others are given a credit period of weeks or months. But debtors can take advantage of certain business sales to delay payment. Hence a collector is required to assist in the collection of sales to ensure that the business does not lose out on its profit.

Hence, the collector is a very important person who must be able to clear the outstanding debts of the company by approaching the debtors for prompt payment. A collector must be a people person who can interact well with all levels of people. He must be firm and persuasive to ensure that he can convince the debtor to make prompt payments; and preferably without force or intimidation.

A collector must have integrity in his position as he deals with company funds. He is usually employed by businesses that make big profits and have no time to oversee the payment.

A collector needs to work together with his administrative and sales colleagues in identify the errant debtors. He needs to keep in touch with his clients and maintain good relations to enable easier collections.
