A daily log is useful to those who are on shift duties; i.e. many services do not perform according to the normal office hours of 9am to 6pm every day. There are many industries that have shift hours such as factories, security guards and transportation. Many bus or taxi drivers ply the road in the wee hours of the morning or late in the night.
Some chartered buses or excursion vans prefer to drive at the late hours of the night to avoid the daytime traffic. Some transportation companies prefer to operate at nights to get a faster and smoother drive to their customers’ destinations. Factories which need to operate on a 24hour basis will have different batches of its workers operating the factories at different time frames or slot hours everyday, as it is necessary to keep the production going.
Hence, a daily log is necessary for the proper recording of the time used by a worker. The daily log also functions as proof of the worker’s productivity when it comes to payroll.
A daily log template usually records:
* Worker’s Name
* Worker’s Position
* Time In
* Reporting to
The worker should be diligent in registering himself on the daily log as he reports to work. Should any bad incidences occur at the workplace, this daily log will enable insurance claims to be filed easily as the daily log becomes the proof of work during the incident.
