Payment Invoice Template

Payments are very important to every business as payments are necessary for business continuity. If a business has a lot of transactions but cannot collect its payments for its goods sold and its services rendered, then the business will face cash flow difficulties and possibly, bankruptcy.

Hence, a payment invoice is a very important business document that is issued to the company’s customers. It will contain the necessary information related to a transaction depending on the company’s scope of business.

A payment invoice template may record the following information:

* Business Name & Logo

* Business Address & Contact

* Customer’s Name & Address

* Customer’s Contact Information

* Invoice Number

* Billing Date

* Type of Service

* Type of Goods sold

* Quantity

* Date of delivery

* Cost incurred

* Sales Tax, if any

* Total

The payment invoice can be in duplicate copies; one for the customer and one for the company for filing and reference. The payment invoice will show the total amount payable at the bottom after listing out all the items that are payable by the customer.

It may also indicate the shipping method and shipping address which can differ from the billing address.

It can also state the type of payment acceptable by the company such as ‘Cash only’, ‘Credit 30 days’ or ‘Cash on Delivery’.

A payment invoice can be mailed to the customer or delivered personally with the goods.
