Project Template

Before a company takes on a project, it has to understand what task is required. It has to identify the scope and the objective of the project before it can be proposed. There are many things to think through before a project can be considered as viable and proposed to the top management. A lot of groundwork must be done to determine the feasibility of the project.

For example, before the company allows an expansion of a department, the department involved must think through the project of expansion before coming out with a proposal to expand the department. Hence, the department will need to determine the reason(s) and objective for the expansion, the timeframe, cost and resources required, manpower imposed, the limitations, the benefits and the long run status.

Hence, the project template may take on several pieces of important items such as:

* Project name

* Description of project

* Project Owner

* Project Leader

* Manpower

* Project Leader

* Purpose / Objective

* Benefits

* Disadvantages

* Activities

* Cost

* Funding

The project template can be flexible to accept more columns of information depending on the type of project on hand. The project template will allow the project owner to identify the real necessity of the project; otherwise, the project can be scrapped if the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.

Hence, a project template allows interested parties to brainstorm about the project’s feasibility before embarking on it and wasting more time and money.
